It's in Staryi Solotvyn, Ukraine. And this webpage on the village has other buildings that look just as intriguing: https://travels.in.ua/en-US/locality/18417/staryi-solotvyn-village

For some, old and abandoned locations are sort of like driving past a car crash, most of us will at least look, but for some, it’s a fascination. Generally, the things we see are representations of when everything goes right. Abandoned and broken things are the fail state, something less commonly found out there.

It’s a unique opportunity to see the effects of time, from peeling and decaying paint, to the impact of nature on man-made structures. Some folks are fascinated by the eeriness of the structures, or perhaps like documenting the signs of human day-to-day life before the entire place was left alone.

Another one purportedly for sale. From the witcher reddit: "Finlay44: For those interested in the backstory: The Zobeltitz Manor, located in Glinka, Poland. Built in the late 18th century as a home for a noble family. Renovated in the early 20th century. Unfortunately, the owners fled during that little scuffle those wacky Nazis started in the 1930s, and didn't feel like coming back once the Reds took over. The mansion and its grounds became state property and, since no one in government had any interest in the place, fell into disrepair. It's actually for sale. If you're interested, contact the Agricultural Property Agency in Warsaw."

After all, when someone says they are into urban exploration, we tend to understand that as investigating old, mostly unused buildings, not just walking around a city. While some part of urban exploration is just a desire for adrenaline, as these locations are generally closed for a reason, it is still very human to want to discover something new and unseen.

Interesting: "Scola Tower, also called the Tower of San Giovanni Battista, is a military structure located in the Gulf of La Spezia (The Gulf of Poets) in Liguria, Italy. The tower sits north of the island of Palmaria in Porto Venere." https://hardcoreitalians.blog/2022/05/23/hidden-gems-in-italy-scola-tower/

This one's even spookier than it looks: from Abandoned Beauties on Facebook, May 6, 2022: "Lennox hospital, Glasgow. Lennox Castle was built in the 1830s and later converted into what would become an infamous psychiatric hospital. The hospital had 1200 beds and has been compared to American Horror Story: Asylum, due to the allegations of abuse, neglect and horrific conditions. Lennox Castle Hospital finally closed in 2002 leaving the institution’s sad history to be forgotten. In 2008 a fire destroyed most of the building, leaving it as you see today."

This beautiful castle somewhere in Italy is abandoned for several years. There are many ghost stories were the local people are talking about but the previous owner lived here happily until he died of old age. This dining room was my favorite room of this amazing castle

That looks like it dates back to Japanese occupation in WWII. They logged huge amounts of the virgin forest for war materials- using slaves labor .

So many beautiful abandoned places in Italy. Wish they were preserved and open to the public for viewing as a tour of ancient Italian architecture. I would spend all my money for such a tour!

I was just there in October - this isn't a villa, this is part of a mill complex smack in the middle of Sorrento, Italy. Walk down main street, and there's a bridge, not over a train line, but over this cleft in the earth. Very surreal. It's a flour mill from the 13th century and a saw mill. When they built that central square in Sorrento, the Piazza Tasso, this very low lying area was cut off and then abandoned. But super weird to be strolling down the busy tourist-filled street from the main square, look over a railing, and this is down below you. The photo is taken looking over the railing from the busy main street.

I think this one is Forte Richermo, in Pieve di Teco, Liguria, Italy. They're bunker forts in the Italian Alps, and there's definitely more than one in this style. Some you can enter and tour (the gap between the walkway and door is covered for access by a drawbridge in the doorway).

The ones in front look like Antonov AN-2s so this must be former Soviet territory. Can't make out the insignia on the side though. Those look like Mig-15s behind them and after that, I'm not sure. I can't make them out.

I sometimes (more often than not) think these photos are staged. This photo implies that the diner abruptly closed in the middle of a lunch or dinner rush. But...the table settings are too perfect, especially on the bar/counter.

This could have happened in China, but it happened in Turkey. More than five hundred nearly-indentical castles appear to be copied and pasted into this Turkish hillside but not a soul lives there. Developers meant for these uniform villas to be luxury vacation homes for healthy tourists when they began construction in 2014. However, when the company went bankrupt in 2018, investitors pulled out of the deal which put constuction on hold.

Deserted-Forgotten-Places-Pics

Abandoned presidents busts that stand 20+ feet tall. These president heads started as an attraction called Presidents Park in Williamsburg, Virginia. The park was an open-air museum where people strolled among the heads, gazing at the enormous size of them. But a lack of visitors caused the park to close just six years after opening in 2004. Instead of allowing the busts to be demolished, Howard Hankins, who helped construct the park, claimed all 42 heads and lugged them back to his private family farm for safekeeping until someone could think of what to do with them. With each bust weighing 22,000 pounds, it took nearly a week to move them all just a few miles to the large field where they now sit, and some of the heads sustained minor damage to the backs of their heads and noses. You’ll find every president here today (excluding Obama, Trump, and Biden) on his farm rotting away exposed to the elements of nature
